yeah this really hit a nerve for me because I did all that for my daughters and I remember seeing some of the kids not having their parents and I used to tell my daughters Tell him to come over here and sit down with us and a lot of them to this day they tell my daughters your dad was a good dad he was always there and I've always been here for my babies and I'm always going to be here and now that I'm a grandfather I go to all these functions even if I have to take a day off of work because it really does matter to them to the dad that showed up much love to you for real keep doing what you do because I could probably say this a lot of men have been through the situations you've been through and some show up and some don't and to those that your parents didn't show up I'm so sorry for that that was wrong of them but we don't know what they were going through at that time so y'all stay blessed and stay up
Just took my son for a bingo thing at his school last night. My dad would have never did that with me. Im a better man because of what I been through. So I guess thanks dad

as a kid i was upset that my father didnt come to school functions. as an adult I understand that it wasnt because he didnt want to come. we always had electric, we always had full belly, everything that comes with starting a new achool year, a roof over our heads. im am happy that you did get to go to yiur daughter function.
I went to all the events but at the time I didn't think of the other children that didn't and now I feel bad! but I was one of those kids too. It's just sad all kids should have somebody to show up on those days for encouragement. 🥺
