but why would you wash an egg carton. has to be a city thing. I get my eggs from the chicken coop, put them in a bowl, and leave them on the counter. can be there for up to 12 days.
And if the egg carton comes apart and gets in the drain and dries like concrete you get a chance to buy a new dishwasher

This video is All Wrong .. can't use cardboard egg cartons! See the Right Way Below!! Putting an empty, rigid plastic or reusable egg carton (typically from the refrigerator, not disposable cardboard) into the dishwasher is primarily done to sanitize it and remove potential bacteria. Because eggs can carry Salmonella, and empty shells can harbor bacteria that might contaminate fresh eggs, cleaning the container ensures a hygienic, "like new" storage space for a new carton! 😂

On another note, the way packaging food is a waste and takes up a lot of room in the trash. if you take those boxes, cereal, freezer boxes etc. and run them under hot water the shrink flat and if under very long turn pasty! More room in the garbage bag.
I have seen recipes that involve cooking fish (wrapped) in a dishwasher. Apparently very tasty if you don't mind the soap.
