These are only riding mowers by name. They are more like mini-pullers, made to look like mowers. I would bet they have never had a mower deck attached. Probably bought a stripped down version from the factory just for this purpose. Bet it all started with next door neighbors racing their riding mowers against each other, while they were supposed to be cutting the grass.👍🤔
Looks like pulling lawn tractors. Pulling the weights out further on the front doesn't change the weight of the tractor .

More than anything else it keeps the front end down. Otherwise it’ll just flip my only question is where is the mower deck?
It changes the balance. To improve the traction and or steering it does not change the weight .just how it is distributed.
