Working with animals for many years at animal services I would find alot of dog's dragging their back legs I would take them and bathe them and find big ticks once I removed all the ticks in a couple days the dogs could walk again. I never found any on my own dog's I checked them all the time. My wolves use to get one once in awhile so I searched through their hair everyday. Ticks are bad here in Florida. They do sell a special tick remover that works great.

And the way you removed that tick I bet the head is still in there. JS

just put horse paste ivermectin on it and it will back out on its own. I had a tick on my ankle and used the paste on it and I didn't have to touch it

The dryer to hold the hair apart is genius.

Tick removal for humans. A cotton ball soaked with liquid soap, cover the tick for several minutes. It will dislodge itself. The soap cuts off it's oxygen supply. I used this method in the ER, easy and a no pain removal.

All this Controversy over a friggin tick! We always did a 'tick check' on our Golden at the end of the day. She had a great, long coat of fur, with feathers kept 6" above the ground. She loved the Massage and stayed still lying down for about 45 minutes. She was also 'being groomed' at the same timing. I know. Boring. The point - ticks are a warm weather constant here in MA. I ALWAYS USED a SIMPLE PRODUCT CALLED A TICK KEY to remove the ones that had already bitten her. I NEVER Had ANY DIFFICULTY REMOVING THEM. There's a keyhole shaped cut out that you place over the tick, and slide the key till the tick is in the small end and give it a tug. Always worked, every time, head included.

Stop blowing air in it, just use comb, the air will just blow it somewhere if it is dislodged and then it will just crawl on someone else and bit it
