my property tax when I get it is outrageous on the school tax I have like 30 of them on there and one this year is $150 just for the one. no I am 68 years old I'm tired of paying taxes on a house I own. it needs to stop. let him find another way to raise money for schools I don't have any school-age children anymore I raised them and paid my dues are very long time ago. so yes anybody over 60 should not have to pay property tax we paid our share already

Yes!!! It would force the state to stop spending on pork projects. Maybe get back the🤦‍♀️ $13 billion from the Ghost Train budget. A train we still " dont" have..😡

this would be amazing for those 60 and older living on a fixed income. It's sad to see how many of them worked hard, bought a home, raised their family and now living on fixed retirement income struggling. Even when they get the COLA increase, it's not much!

when will young generation get some fairness and justice? again getting a hit, they don’t have the same opportunity to buy a home like old generation when they were young, facing astronomic home prices and corresponding property taxes.. old politicians filling their own pockets

I'm with you, Marryanne. I planned my retirement. I have the funds to get through most of the bullshit the Democrats policies will bring on all taxpayers. Look at the billions of dollars thrown at the bullet train fiasco. The Democratic Party still wants to spend more money on this mindless project. But because I planned for it, I don't need to pack up and move. I just came back from a 3 week of European vacation. To all younger people out there, start putting money away for your retirement. Folks who are 50 years and older, if they haven't been putting money away for their retirement, it too late for them to put away serious money for retirement. But you younger people don't wake up someday, and you're 55 years old, and you don't have anything saved up. Good luck to all.

I hope so at our age why are we paying for schools our children are grown. we paid taxes for over 50%2B years if we are middle to low income we need a break. it's not like cost of living is even close to the 2%2B% they give as COLA increase

It might lower property tax but not eliminate it as we are still obligated to pay on any long term bonds for such things as sewers & special other taxes for fire & police.

If the democrats can't kill it at the ballot box, they'll have one of their judges overthrow the vote on some pretext. But there's no way they will allow a tax cut in this state, unless its for their donors..

Only considering till the votes are done then it will not be given. Democrats will make sure it doesn’t pass with the law! What is loss is the same as what California has wasted on trains, homeless ,crimes that never got the money. Just find that money and it will take care of loss.

the budget is full of misappropriations, taxatiion without representation, and deficits as well as unaccountabiliity that i can't see why dropping property taxes paid by senior citizens would really make any dofferenc to anyone other than taxpayers. So, the government would get less money to mishandle and put in their own pockets. why is that a bad thing? we cant even account for missing money that all taxpayers have paid, and the programs who really need the funds arent receiving them. so, cut the property taxes, and then rebalance the budget using less government employees to do that.
