Could be a Cane Corso. Pits usually have long tails. This dog has a short (cropped) tail.
I have a Amstaff I trained him to obey my commands and I continue to teach him and he loves to learn. These types of dogs need discipline training and love. I understand people get scared when they face an aggressive breed dog that’s roaming the neighborhood freely and I think any dog that roams the streets is dangerous. Call the pound on them. No matter what kind of dog you face wait for them to come to you and smell you then pet them. My dog is on guard until I give him a command to relax and then he’s ready to meet you.

A friend of mine has a cane corso that cost 5,000 to purchase, and 6,000 to train. That's when I changed my mind about getting one.

I would love to have one. Love larger dogs, always have. Had a Pit mix that was 130 pounds of solid muscle. He was the best protector my children and I ever had. He was both voice and signal trained. Sadly he passed at 14.

I like an owner that keeps a collar on his pit. The male pits are very territorial, this one respects his owner. But I have known pits to have mood swings. My misty had one, I kept my guard up whenever I was close to her mouth area since then.

My Grandson has a Cane Corso and I was intimidated by his size but he's a real sweetheart. The size of these dogs is totally amazing.

Our Chow dog Lobo was the BEST dog! He would watch people who came up . If he thought they were a threat he would get in front of you and growl at them.If you said its ok they are a friend he would still follow them watching them intently. I had a friend who became mentally ill and he would not let them get out of their car! He knew!

Excellent training! My next door neighbor has this breed and does not have this trained response. I cannot step in my back yard or take my garbage out if that dog is outside as there is only a 3.5’ chain link fence between our yards. I would love to become friends with him and maybe even take him on walks.

That growl needs to be in a movie.
He is trained specifically for protection. that is why he is familiarizing himself with his masters friends particular pheromones. He will definitely recognize it again. And even if he does. , if his owner tells him, enemy! The greeting would have been gruesome rather than cute. these breeds absolutely have violent tendencies. the statistics don't lie. and that is also why they are a favorite choice for protection and security. they are beautiful and loyal but also deadly. pray you don't find that out the hard way.

Beautiful Cane Corso. I love how his fur looks like it is slicked down. Even the visitor wasn't afraid and the Cane washed his face down with his tongue. Very well trained.

My son just got a dog that part pit bull and mastif. This is her 3rd home. A second family took and then decided that she was too big for her kids who are teenagers She was fostered and when back to foster care my son got her. It's not her fault. She wasn't trained. You can't have that with this kind of dog. I brought my little dog over and they got in a fight and my little dog was bitten. My grandson couldn't get her to back down. My dog had about 5 bites on his head. We didn't mean for them to meet like they did. We just weren't thinking. My dog is a Doxie and he thinks he's big! He is the one that started the barking and growling at the other dog. Apparently this dog was with all kinds of animals at the foster care place and the cats and little dogs crawled all over him. I saw the pictures of it. I'm trying to convince them to train this dog. . .
