On a budget, American taxpayers have to be selective on what we buy. Why should that not be the same for SNAP and EBT recipients? It should only be for nutritional food and not energy drinks, snacks, and soda.

I know couples who live together, but won't marry so they can stay home and get all the freebies. I'm 82, widowed on SS and am told I am 100. over the amount not to get any help with rent etc. I pay $500 a month for health ins and my rent is increasing every year.

The changes in snap were for health reasons. I’ve seen people go in there and spend almost all of their snap money on case after case of soda and cookies and candy! Not healthy and that’s the reason they made the change learning to eat healthier. The government, (in example the American taxpayers) pays for unhealthy situations that happen from too much soda too much junk food instead of people eating healthier choices so they changed the rules!
