just because you're with someone on Valentines Day doesn't mean you need to go broke. my husband always wants to buy jewelry. I asked him this year for a heated throw blanket. my apartments heat/AC is a window unit. it blows right across my legs. even though it's set on 72° it still feels uncomfortably cold blowing approximately 4ft from my recliner, which is the only way to set up this small room. Jewelry is pretty, but I'd rather have something I will use every day. I will think about him each time I use it.

My husband and I have been married going on 49 yrs this June. We didn't have much money. I told him that I didn't want flowers or candy because it's a waste of money. Neither lasts that long. Didn't want a card because after awhile I would throw it away. Why would he tell me once a yr how much he loves me when he should tell me every day. Its a day for stores to make big bucks from ppl that cant afford to really spend it. For our anniversary, birthdays we go out for dinner. Christmas is once a yr we buy each other something big because we can take the money we would have spent on Valentines to go towards a Christmas gift. I cook him a special meal for Valentines day that he can enjoy.💕

Everybody missed the point. As a person who crochets is takes major dedicated time to crochet that blanket that turns into a sorbet set of sunflowers. To be honest flowers die and go back to the earth. Dinner and candies get digested then,.... flushed into the the sewer and returns back to earth. Give me something that has longevity.
