As a retired Store Detective I can vouch that there are people out there who really do this! I arrested a man in a grocery store once for opening a jar of pickled pigs feet. ate some and put the remains back in the jar. It’s still theft folks! I busted him after he went thru checkout without paying for the product
I have come across several people doing this same thing, the store can't say anything to them, BUT I SURE CAN AND I DO. That's what the store told me and thanked me.
