This should be mandatory everywhere. Back in 2011, an ice chunk flipped off a trailer and landed on a car, killing a student I was in college with.
These should be mandatory everywhere, No way for drivers to climb up on trailers . And some trailer tops won’t support weight of someone standing on them.
I've been advocating for these kind of set ups at every truck stop for years ! Or for cat walks to be built for trucks and cars to drive between and pay people to clean off their roofs ! Put the unemployed or under employed to work !
They need these at different areas on the Pennsylvania Turnpike .

I just had my windshield shattered by ice flying off a truck in southeast Louisiana last week. Thank god it didn’t go all the way through and injure anyone.

I have had ice crash into my windshield twice in my adult life. I learned my lesson and don’t follow behind trucks in Winter. This should be mandatory.
some fleets have these but a truck stop or weigh station would need to adjust the height for every random trailer and then charge for personel to move the snow it scraped off.

Truck hit a bump on a bridge throwing ice into my front grill, transmission cooler and radiator...several years ago... 2k worth of damage back then...!!

Trucking has always had its risk
It would be Illegal to Climb Up ! States need to step up abd build these at all entrance ramps to interstates ! If its a State Law , then these snow brushes need to be provided by the State . The Northeast States are out of their minds to mandate something , then not provide facilities in order to comply ! OSHA regulations prohibit climbing up without a Derrick and harness system ! So the brush is the only solution. Where are they ?

This scraper should be a law! My Car got hit twice, and it caused a dent on my hood. And yes, I was being careful to not follow closely.
My wife and I almost got hit by a large chunk of ice that came from a tractor trailer. the truck was not worried about it. this should be a mandatory cleaning to avoid accidents! You get hit by ice from a truck he keeps going! This is not right!

you got to man it keep it clear and not every trailer is 13.6 ft high can't just drive under it snow will build up
Scrapers been around for years but not all businesses have them and they don’t actually do that good a job as pictured
so why don't they put them scrapers at every dot station put them at every rest area
