Can't work with any key......I think some holes in keys won't fit over the plastic because the hole is too small, i.e., mailbox keys.

use a split ring tool. everyone should have one in their home toolbox, with their screwdrivers and hammers and such. Split ring tools are cheap and reliable. I have one simply for crafting Keychains. However, now I've realized how useful they are, more often than not. We are given Keychains as gifts all the time, or for when we change cars, change locks on our homes, gym locker keys, gun locks... a plethora of uses.

Take the end of the key to open, hold with edge of thumb then switch to other end to put on. No need for this unless you’re compromised.
