While I was in college in the late 70s for my auto/diesel mechanics degree. They tried to teach us to Fix it, but Don't Fix it. Fix what it came in for but make sure it leaves the shop with another problem. Return business sooner! I was taught by my father and local mechanic that it's mechanical and going to break down sometime. Do a good honest job and a customer will return when another part fails. Don't rush it. I've had a customer base to keep me busy with good honest business. I had tuned my brother's car while in college. When I left the area. His car had an issue. He took it to a local dealership and they fixed that problem and it left the shop with a problem that wasn't in the area to be fixed. The dealership mechanic had messed up his car like they tried to train me to do.

that's crazy.one time someone broke my grill on my van I built a wooden grill in front medal meash lol
thank God my husband knows cars, so many of us have been saved from his knowledge, he is sick of working on them now but we get information that we need something replaced, he looks at it and says no it does not! skilled tool maker 40 years started working on vehicles when he was 8. It's a shame that these businesses do this crap but they do get caught and it's fun when we catch em'

I got fired from a brake and tune up shop because I refused to lie to the costumer about an ignition coil and wheel cylinder that didn't leak. Then I went to work for a Auto body shop and started working as both auto bodyman and mechanic for the owner and we got BAR approved.

They want to come back on the business if they do anything to the vehicle. Best to call the customer and tell them what it will cost to fix it all or do nothing at all.
