as an American I find tipping can be overrated based on the fact that if I saved up money as a treat to take myself out or my children out, I may have only budgeted for us to eat. I don't have extra money to throw at somebody else. thank you for doing your job but that's why I also make your job easier when I'm there. I clean my own table. I make sure everything's good for you. I don't have you repetitively come back and forth. not everybody has extra money to tip 15 20%
