Our entire healthcare system is built around TREATING patients, not CURING them. Can you imagine the crisis that would occur if there was a cure for cancer, heart disease or diabetes?
your paying for the healthcare and trained educated people that know how to give you the IV if you don't like that do it yourself good luck 😉
Well because you have 30% of all medical expenses used for illegals. Read the article by Colorado’s hospitalizations director! It’s an eye opener. The left claims they don’t get Medicare. In a way that’s true? They get emergency Medicare benefits directly to the state! Which doesn’t actually cover the real costs. Leaving insurance and us the remaining responsibility
This is true, especially if the patient has health insurance. If there’s no insurance, the cost is greatly reduced. And we wonder why insurance is so expensive…….
Im looking at this from the perspective of what it takes to run a hospital. A hospital employees trained professionals like nurses, nurse aides, respiratory, lab & X-ray technicians as well as doctors who take care of patients in the hospital, like ER, ICU, CCU, etc. and because all of these individuals have specialized training, they aren’t typically employed as minimum wage. There have employees that work 24 hrs as hospitals are open 24 hrs and patients need care around the clock. Hospitals cannot typically charge for services for more than insurance & Medicare will pay so hospitals usually mark up other services or items. And don’t forget they have to pay premiums on liability insurance as well as the need for an in house cafeteria and food to feed both employees and patients. The surgery dept needs surgical instruments that it buys from outside suppliers but the hospital has to maintain a dept that sterilizes those instruments for reuse. Linen that is used daily has to be maintsine
What’s worse is it’s not even the best care anymore…they don’t care to give you their best treatment and they treat you as if you’re on an assembly line…INFLATION IS SUCH A DIRTY WORD AND IS MORE OF A SCAM INSIDE A SCAM INSIDE A SCAM…..
they charged me $15.00 for a cotton swab when you go to the hospital ask for an itemized bill
well if you want to look at that way everything I'm not everything but a lot of stuff is fraud you ever notice all these bottled waters I forget the name of it it said it wasn't bottled water it was pure spring water coming out of a well every one of them is going to say it's out of a whale but they found one or two of them it was regular tap water
They are so greedy and petty. They charge $3 for a Band-Aid. One Band-Aid.
I hurt my back picking up something heavy, I heard my back pop before I went to the ground. Went to ER and started I need an MRI or CT of my middle back(Thoracic). The nurse practitioner stated she’s just going to do an X-ray. The Xray tech was focused on my lower back( lumbar), I told her it was my thoracic that was hurt, she left an got permission from the nurse practitioner and did both. After 7 hours she came back a said I just had sprained my back. Gave me a shot of toradol and sent me in my way. After several days I could hardly walk. Went to an orthopedic dr. And he did an MRI. Found out I had 3 compression fractures. All together it took nearly 3weeks being in pain to find out. The ER bill was over 13000.00 for a miss diagnosis.
It's to pay for staff, the building, ect. Smarting up and go back to work Lil winer.
The healthcare system in America is broken. Something is going to kill us all do I'm done with docs, hospitals and insurance companies that take your money and deny test, procedures and medications cause they don't want to pay
ALL Hospitals are corrupt they charge way to much for everything.
They do this to cover the patient's that come in with no insurance.I knew someone that worked in hospital intake. She said a person with insurance will come in and the other person with no insurance,They bill the persons that has insurance twice as much to off set the loss.True story .Thats why your insurance bill reflect high cost. Its all a scam.
exactly one year ago I broke my ankle instead of going to the hospital immediately the first thing I did was have an Uber driver pick me up a set of crutches and a boot from Walgreens locally who was about 2 miles from me two days later I going to the ER just to make sure things are good you know make sure my house is all open up and the doctor said he couldn't do anything more for me except give me a prescription for four Vicodin for the next 6 to 8 weeks he was mad and asked me where I got my boot in my crutches and I told him Walgreens and the stickers were still attached to the items and he was upset about it only because the crutches cost me $15 in the boot cost me 22 and some change I spent less than $50 and they were going to charge me five grand
It's called capitalism for those who don't like socialism.
when I got into an accident I was hit by a car when I was on a bicycle My medical bills came up to $99,000 My lawyer got it down to $9,000 Make that make sense
well if your required to take care of uninsured, there ya go
you are absolutely right it's a rip off😲
It is not just the saline, is it? you're paying for the knowledge to get it inside the veins. Why not complain about lawyers? That's all they do is sell their knowledge.
The cost associated with everything is the reason everything cost so much he got all these people that work in the hospital that make ridiculous about money for doing very little. You got the expensive the building the cost from them, ordering the saline from the pharmacy and all the people that have to deliver it and the nurse that has to administer it. It gets fucking costly with all the fucking people Too much red tape. And too many people in line before it gets to the patient.
Ask that question after you get the pharmaceutical cartels to stop contributing to politicians.
You don’t understand it’s really the cost of the plastic bag! It just has to be.
Look at the price when they give you 2 common store bought tylenol pills. $50.
Just walking in the door, they got you for 1000 bucks.
and 3,100 a night for a room that isn't even private
ten dollars for one aspirin
True that
Dear Lord, how do they get away with this
our health care system is a complete JOKE,,, fraud, waste and abuse ,,, stealing money day after day,, you know it and I know it
The saline cost $2.00 - the bag (you don’t get to keep) cost $698.00
I have no answer to your question! None! 😲😲😲😲!
What is charge for labor to give to a patient?
you ever look at gallons of milk it's time to go to the store take two or three bottles or gallon jugs set them up on the ledge for a level and look at the level in there one's up to that little circle around the neck sounds a little bit of it or below it how can a gallon be three different types
Because the government is involved and make it "affordable"
I can do better! Cut two finger tips off went to urgent care, they locked the door closed at 5pm! Went up the road to er sat for 2hours bleeding stopped , took me back uncovered the towels said nothing we can do for this ! Said someone would be back to clean and bandaid it! I left ! No bandaid !300.$ deductible billed to me and ins charge. Meanwhile my welfare neighbor gets free medical??? 🤔
Reagan made it possible for the healthcare industry to make a profit on sick and injured people. the lowest form of government.
Organized crime doesn’t work that well🤬🤬👍🏻👍🏻
Great question!
They have to cover cost of all the illegals they are treating, nothing is free, someone has to pay!!!!
It's called price gouging, just like if the hospital uses just one band-aid, they will charge you the price of a full box
Saline is more expensive than two dollars a bag.
corruption
and why are they broke. This is used more than anything else in the hospital.Mabe CEOS are getting way to much salary.???🤔🙏🙏🙏🙏
That’s exactly what it is. In this country this BS is allowed in so many ways. It’s truly disgusting
Saline is a salt water mix! Hospital charges are outrageous in America!
It’s the delivery
I agree
because people only care about non Americans and non Americans only pay 2$ for saline so unless some somalian gets on here and says something is unfair your wasting your time
that's big pharma bro it's always been tat way
if I could... I was charged $700 & $800 for 2 visits from 2 therapists that asked the EXACT SAME QUESTIONS on the same DAY to determine IF I could go home & IF someone was there to help me. it was my FIRST DAY, I came thru the E.R.
Because they are absorbing a lot of people who can't pay so they need to get all the money they can from insurance companies. Still not always enough. My sister in laws sister worked at two different border state hospitals crushed under by non paying immigrants.
I got charged 900 for poison ivy
I totally agree
