And since the flight is substantially controlled from the Space Center, why hasn’t NASA sent numerous unmanned flights of much smaller scale the last decade, which would have mapped the entire moon’s by now. Why would we rely on Astronauts with handheld cameras and their visual anecdotes as our primary accounts. Oh, and the moon ain’t 230k miles away.

it is impossible for the human body to withstand the pressure of space without a vessel. If you were to step out of a capsule you will immediately implode. Imagine going to the bottom of the deep ocean without a vessel. How about climbing Mount Everest with no gear. You don't just fly to the moon either and take pictures
