Ok people obviously they are not telling you the whole story. My daughter was an exchange student in China during the summer. She tore her AC ligament and received treatment at the university hospital on campus. She received excellent care and had a MRI the next day and could have had surgery the next day if needed for very little cost. But she had low cost insurance through her school. This person probably had insurance or paid out of pocket. The cost was insanely cheap (MRI like $10, no wait). Very skilled surgeons and well equipped hospital-probably more updated than most in the US. It really was amazing.

Been a nurse for 35 years. For every person touching a patient there are several dozen that wear suits and handle the regulations and reimbursement. Fighting the government and insurance. They are paid way way more than the nurses so…..

Government administered healthcare is a joke. And that is why the video is totally misleading. I have a Canadian business associate who was suffering from a severe illness which required wearing colonoscopy bag. He attempted to have the required life-saving surgery in Canada, and was told he had to wait 6 months. Fortunately, he has the financial means, and was able to see a specialist here in the USA in a few days. The seriousness of his condition caused the doctor to schedule the surgery immediately! Given the choice between national healthcare and what we have, there is no hesitation.

My employer sponsored insurance's PCP co-pay is $40 and my specialist co-pay is $80. That does not include testing and meds. Testing goes under the $3500 deductible and $6000 out of pocket. So most employees do without eventhough they have insurance.
