Is it not a normal thing to hug a brother in law? I've seen these videos before and they confuse me... Maybe it's a cultural thing? Idk, I have hugged my brothers in law several times as a way of saying hello or good bye and my sister's the same... never thought anything.

my brother in law started dating my sister when I was 12 and she was 15. He has been a part of my life 49 years now. Married to my sister for 42 years. When I have a problem I call him not her. She always wants to tell me what to do and he asks what do you want to do. That makes a difference. My dad died last year , two weeks after my BIL was diagnosed with cancer. It was the first time I ever said i love you and thank you for being the best brother ever. He is still fighting the cancer. We already know it's a fight he can't win but as long as he is willing to fight I'm willing to back him up because that's what he wants to do not what I want or think he should do. I'm 61 and he still calls me kiddo. I let him. it's very big brotherish and I'm good with that. 💕
