I found some old .22 boxes in my dads stuff when he passed. We did a lot of plinking when I was a kid. They were at least 40 years old boxes all faded. I moved to SC and joined a range. Every one of those 150 bullets, 3 boxes fired fine.👍

I actually prefer a.22lr for home defense and not about stopping power but long term lingering pain once you get shot by a small caliber.22lr. Plus, you can still hear in a closed space and see without the bright flashes of gun fire. Yes a bigger caliber ends the game no doubt but I'd rather you suffer more later on. lol 😆

22's are very effective in close range situations with humans.I have a sig Sauer 322 that holds 20 rounds that I like to use for my conceal and carry cause I can fit it in my pocket, it's lightweight and I'm not trying to kill anyone 🤔
my 22/250 is not a toy by all means at 200 yards I could hit a shotgun shell with no problem and it explodes just like some of the wild pigs heads I've nailled.
There are actually smaller calibers. The .22 was designed for small game and beginners. I got my Stevens Favorite when I was three.
