I have 17 house cats. They have never acted like that. Those cats are responding that way because they are starving. please set up dry food self feeders. If they are locked in that room I sure hope they have plenty of toys to keep them entertained.

I have 13 cats now (7 from birth) and my cats have never acted like that. in fact, I have had at the least, 80 cats over 40 plus years and the only ones I have seen do that, were rescues that were starving.

I also had four cats. I free feed them hard food, but when they hear the moist can food being opened, all are under my feet. They each had their own space where they ate and had to be in their space before they got the food. Never had to tell them to get ready.
