Yes, there's one. We never really broke up. I moved 500 miles away for a better job. Neither of us was willing to give up our fledgling careers. We visited each other a few times, but the distance became overwhelming. We simply began dating others. After a few other meaningless relationships, I began to regret my move. That lasted for a few years until I met the woman I would marry. That's over forty years ago. My wife is my best friend and greatest love. But I still do think about the other lady from time to time when something triggers a memory. A few years ago, I was cleaning out old junk and found a piece of artwork that was hers. So I looked her up and returned it to her. She then returned an old sweater of mine that I gave her one evening when she was cold. That exchange of items we kept was a testament to the relationship we had a long, long time ago. But, that's it. My wife is the love of my life.
