I would not tip 40% without exceptional service. 10% was always the norm and I usually do more but if you expect 40% then find a new career.

If you ask me for a 40% tip, you'll get nothing.

even though I go out to eat, a tip is not mandatory. it's highly suggested, also to me your tip is based on my overall satisfaction.

I'm in the service industry and a 38$ tip on a 95$ tab is a little bit outrageous. especially when most servers are over worked and over stimulated so they give shotty service and slow drink refills.

and another thing if you turn your tables fast and you have 7 to 10 tables every hour and each of those tables leave you a 5$ to 10$ tip I work a full bar and still take the cocktail dinning area I walk out most nights with more then 300$ stop complaining cause I also work in construction during the day and I make what used to be considered good money. after taxes come out every week I'm lucky if my checks are 1000$ after taxes

guess if everyone does eat at home, because people can't tip what people THINK they deserve " I think that's whomever is getting the service has to decide". just because you think your worth something more does not make it true. guess most companies will be out of business. when more stay at home people cook and the other goes to work will save the family money and big business better pay up or lose workers.

If u gotta show us how much u want tipped, u ain’t a good server, my daughter is one daughter n law also , yeah they have complained but they also have been happy and smiled a lot more than not. You win some and u lose some. Just remember the diner and take notes for the next time. But all ppl ain’t the same, tomorrow is a new day. Smile look pretty be the best and treat ppl the way u would want too be! Good luck I hope u make slots of money at whatever ur doing!!

If the server turned 4 to 5 tables an hour and the average bill was $100. they would make $160.00 - $200.00 per hour on tips alone plus their hourly salary, say $15- $20, that's $175.00 - $220.00 per hour. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 A five hour shift is $1000.00 +/-.
