So that means if ONE person has a 98dollar you would be hapy with a 9 dollar tip
X4. Tip is to recognize excellent service. The minute you tell me that you’re expecting a 40% tip for probably doing the bare minimum, you’ve decided you’ll receive nothing from me.
My response is if you want more than $20 tip on a $100 bill, you should get a better job.
I don’t appreciate someone telling me how much I need to tip or how to spend my money
Some waiters and waitresses make $20 an hour now so they definitely are getting gready
ya never happen, aren't your tips tax free now
Restaurants should pay their employees a livable salary. I don't have to tip the cashier at the grocery store, mailman, etc
If a server isn’t satisfied with the wages paid to her, she or he, should choose another line of work….. period
Who tips 40% ?
The price of the meal doesn’t dictate the quality of the service 😆
I worked in the industry for 20 years and our servers would never dare to tell guests how much.they must tip
If the person at the next table, which this waitress would also be serving, ordered a burger and a glass of water, and her bill was 10$ and she left a 2$ tip,the waitress wouldn’t be angry. She is going by the price of the meal, not the time spent serving, which would be the same as the burger patron.
OK, how, did this tipping thing become an obligation and bad etiquette if you choose not to tip. First of all, who decided that only food servers, and drivers were the only workers deserving of tips? If that's the case anyone working in customer service should get tips. my experience as cashier, floor sales person and bank teller, was equally tiring, both mentally and physically and I was dead ass broke because the hourly pay was BS. I dealt with just as much pressure as they do, no body gave me a damn tip. we weren't ALLOWED to accept tips. why, I have no idea. it's the same job. I was on my feet for hours. I work all shifts, weekends, holiday's, and I dealt with people and their bullshit. tell me what's different? I decide if I want to tip, and how much. shit we're all struggling. how do u think you deserve extra money on top of your check for doing your job?
sounds like I won't eat then.
If the service is bad, you can expect zero tips but a 40% tip would never happen by me. 😂
it's funny how poor people demand money but won't do the work required to get it and then they complain and blame every one else but themselves . I stopped eating pizza because of this tip culture I'd rather give Walmart money for a frozen pizza then pay papajohns employees their wages .
I did 20%. Now there is now federal tax on tips. Waiters, waitresses, and others on the low end are in 12% bracket. So, now I tip 8% since they are saving 12% 🤷🏽♀️🇺🇸😍
tips, are stealing, it's ok if you want to give your server, extra money, but it should not be mandatory, if you try and force people, to pay extra money, that is stealing.
Servers make enough in California just on salaries alone. It’s a mindless job. $16.90 an hour is enough. It’s not my requirement to pay any portion of their salary. If they need more money, work some overtime, like the rest of us.
Let's break that down by the hour. Mmm let's say you spend in actual time 15 minutes serving a table. That would equal $153.28 an hour. Im talking actual time waiting on the table NOT how long the customer is at the restaurant.🤔
40% for a tip is insane
😂😂
Waitresses work hard and deserve a good tip....If you don't think so, do their job for 1 day...
Yall are talking shit about these people choosing to be waitresses and waiters but would feel some type of way if all restaurants completely closed down their lobby's because yall don't want to tip for luxury services 🙄 relax a bit.
The restaurant needs to pay the employees not the customers that aew paying 50% mark up
That’s more than a 35% tip, suggested by a true wait staff employee. 😆😆. I usually tip 20% - 25% on average, regardless of good or bad service, everyone needs a living wage.
20% is more than w
I have never tiped anybody in my life it's their job we don't tip teachers think about that
that's ridiculous. since when do people tip 40%??? The flip outta here
I hate when the bill come and it tells you what you sho7ld tip. owners should pay higher wages
40%is ridiculous. I start at 20 and it can go down to 10 or up to 30. its up too the job you do
No, move decimal one place to the right & multiply by two. 20% is plenty! 40% is too much!
40 percent tip? That’s way too much unless you are at a 5 star restaurant.
15-20% max. i worked in a tip based job for years. yall are getting greedy. if you arent making any money maybe its your service and your attitude costing you tips. sorry just my opinion.
15% has been the norm for decades. If you want more than that, you better be better than norm.
I go out and eat when I choose too. Do not take a server position if you depends on tips. Your tip depends on your service.
My tip depends on service, not a decimal point
I tip 20% and possibly a bit more when rounding it up. 40%!! I don't think so.
why do we tip for pick up orders?
Must be crazy🤣. Better tell the owner to up your wages.
By 4? No. Guess we’re eating at home
We don’t tip 40% never heard that before
I hate these people that demand a tip ! There’s no law that says you have to. It’s a voluntary act of appreciation for good service. It’s a choice so chill . You hate the job then quit!
only if it was worth it
ok, I voted to raise minimum wage. I want everyone to have a place to live, food for you and the family, health care. I live with my daughter on social security, have cancer ,sold my house to pay for things I need. one joy I have is going out to eat. with the price of food this is a treat for me once a week. to tip you your request is adding another person to the table. Beware a tip is a gift not an obligation. be well.
That's almost a twenty nine percent tip.Are you insane?
40 percent is double what is should be. NEVER anything above 20 percent-- unless the server is actually feeding a handicapped person bite by bite!!!
a tip is a gratuity not an intitlement.
40%....NOPE. 20 IS MAX
$20.00 that’s it
that's a bit to much! I will do 20% at the most. with good service.
times it?
a little bit to much 420 if you're leaving 40% .
You don’t tell me how to spend my money for tips or anything else. I will extend you the same courtesy
Some of them think you owe them the tip even with crappy service.
10 dollars is plenty
This is ridiculous people should give what they want
20%
Tip server 10 to 20percent people not greedy server don’t be greedy but sometimes we can throw a 20$ or 50$ sho love when we can
here is a tip. get a job so you don't rely on tips
There are people that over tip and there are people that under tip 🤷 Problems 🤔🤔🤔 Find another industry to work in !👍
you took the job why you 😭😭😂😁
😂😭😁
Why should you tip more money for a plate of food that cost 50 then you would 20? Don’t be an ass.
Smokin crack dude’. I’d move the decimal and round to $10.00, there’s the tip!
20.00 tip on 95.80.
No you double the tax that’s the tip u less you have an outstanding server
I'd give you two cents.
😆 Dumocrates.
