just take a piece of chalk I'm running on the side of your belt and it stops squeaking

I wonder why it rode up on the side like that.Maybe your belt's kind of worn down

your belt us probably stretched out... thats why it comes off the pully wheel every time you stop the engine... you can tension your pully... but more likely you do in fact need a new belt...

you know that they have made a spay for like 100 years that will fix that or you could just use a bar of soap the your screw diver won't get caught in the belt an then you have to replace that but hey it's a win win because you're squeak will be gone

Belt was off a couple of teeth. Not always the culprit though.

I remember at the GM dealer I worked at there was a rash of these...I wanna say the 3800 engine...I'd shim the pulley to correct it.

Nope! nope! it's the oil pan bearing because that happened to my car my mechanic told me that if I replace the bearing it will keep my belt from slipping and the reason why it's the bearing is because it was worn out and was wobbling the crank bearing cam.

the heavy draw of the alternator, old battery maybe 🤔

how about pop the belt back onto the pully with the engine off. much safer then potentially turning the screw driver into a projectile
