i am 74 and just retired,I take care of my disabled husband for the last 12 years and worked 40+ hours a week to keep us above water. we pay thousands of dollars every year in property taxes (for a 23 yr old mobile home) another 1500.00 for a 2013 pick up truck, and a car. and if that not bad enough, tax for schools (my baby is 41 years old and hasn't been in school for over 20 years). but the kids parents now a days pays little to nothing. welcome to Virginia.

It's because there's so much corruption that they cannot draw enough so social security because they've already robbed most of social security money, and the people do not get what they actually should be getting an economy like this.\n There's never been enough money in any kind of government program. This is heartbreaking, I know a lady that works at Wallmart and she literally has to prop her body against the checkout on her side and lots of times she is almost laying across the belt still trying to check out items.Yes,she is elderly,so I am very patient with her because I don't know her situation

I'm 82 and still have to work, I feel their pain has happened to me more than once. I have worked my whole life, take care of lots of people younger than me. I just thank God I'm still able to go to work. I'm glad the man was so kind.

I get 1021 and was only getting 964 until the first of the year I would love to see a Congress person have to live off of that for just one month.

It's so sad that there are people who can not afford retirement and have to work to cover expenses.
Government makes cuts in programs as if they have no meaning and the government lifers sit back and get paid outrageous salaries for doing nothing they probably never set foot in a grocery store and try to figure out how to stretch their money to make ends meet. They don’t have to take jobs long into their so called retirement so they don’t loose their homes. But yet they will sit back and say our economy is doing better than it ever was. Our government is shameful.
This is pretty sad to see an elderly person having to work because social security don't pay enough for their stability. This person could have just lost a spouse and is in need for money to help with the daily and monthly expenses let alone food. Thank you sir for showing empathy towards this person.
