I am an in home dog sitter. And yes, I stay all night at the house. Sometimes a week. Sometimes 2 weeks. There is no way I’d have people over. If a friend comes over, the owner knows about it. I get paid to take care of their dog/dogs. I know where they are at all times. Usually they’re in my lap. If they go outside, I go with them. I send pictures and videos. I make sure the dogs are not depressed or missing their parents because I give them plenty of love and attention. If one gets sick, we’re off to the vet. These are not just dogs. They are children. And their parents love them enough to pay good money to have them at home. My clients never worry when they’re on vacation. I make sure of it. I’ve had clients to actually work their vacation around my schedule because they trust me. What that sitter did was wrong. And they should have been fired.
As a dog sitter this blows my mind on so many levels. i have an extremely ruff past and the normal sitter couldn't babysit. i was given an opportunity and i took it seriously i even cleaned their house those babies ate like kings the 14 days i was there. and guess what the family wants me back. im also a homeless ex junkie. when we did the meet and great with their pets she was like ur hired on the spot. she had interviewed countless people & her dogs did approve of any them. they all passed the background check i didn't lol. but no one passed the doggies personal background check except me lol

I had an in home dog sitter and I have a cam as well. I would get calls in the middle of the night cause the dogs were barking and waking my neighbors (I live in a loft building) I would have to ask my neighbors to walk to her apartment at 3AM to get her and get back to what she was being paid for $150 a day she also went through my mail, Google searched me and then talked to other neighbors about what she found and asked me about my RX and took my dogs trazadone and Gabapentin. For reference she is a single mom with a special needs son hes 16 high functioning autistic and she was supposed to sleep at my place her kid had the roommates available I let it slide the first time the second time I got in my car drove 5 hours my dogs were locked outside. She wouldn't answer her phone, her roommates thought I was already home she was in another unit getting stoned and told them she would pay for her drugs when I paid her for watching my dogs. SHE DIDNT GET PAID.
I am a sitter, I come to the job alone! if i stay the night , me and the animal have a movie night and cuddle! they miss their owners, so no added stress🥰
This is why I never hire someone to come into my home. My pups have to stay at a kennel because of this very thing. I have a friend that hired a middle age lady to dog sit for her. The dog sitter went to a bar picked up a man went to work in the morning told him to lock up after he showered . He stole their Tahoe filled it w their tv’s, grandfathers extensive coin collection, kids play station, computer, jewelry, guns, sterling silver. They didn’t get one penny back. The crook left behind his yearbook ( crook was a homeless man) the pet sitter identified him in the yr book they found him and recovered nothing, professional crook he had several days head start.

My next door neighbor has a dog sitter because she goes away a lot. Her sitter would never let another person in her home. Her husband and teenage son barely drop by. She always laughs and says its her vacation away from them when she's dog sitting.
People are so stupid. They’ll take advantage of anybody if they can by the way where’s the dog at?
I have hired in-home Dog Sitters in the past. I trust very few people. I make it perfectly clear that I have cameras and I explicitly tell them to not invite anyone into my home. I have two Dobermans, and one of them is a working line Doberman that would probably eat any visitors that were unwelcome😆😆😆

We have family stay and watch our dogs cuz' they know how we feel about our dogs and our house. We are currently entertaining places we can take our 3 Labs with us. No flying tropical trips just places the five of us can relax together.
Our dog/house sitter stays overnight tje while tule we’re away. One of the pet sitters asked if her husband could join her and we said absolutely! But no one else! The other pet sitter house sits Alone and watches the fur babies.

Oh that sucks! We had a dog sitter for 2 weeks and she was amazing. During a really bad storm, she went and stayed the night with our Maddie and had a girl friend stay with her which we were Absolutely fine with. She even built up our puppy gate because Maddie kept knocking it down!

We have an in home sitter. He knows we have cameras. Fortunately he is an adult...not some kid who thinks our house is a hang out for his friends. Our cameras allow us to speak and be heard . If we saw this, the conversation would not be a good one.
