If that happened on my watch, just as that slid through with the duct tape, I’d hit that door with my shoulder along with my 225 lbs behind it, and I’d bet that might be the last time that person tries that trick again. (at least with that hand)!!!! 😁😂

We always put the ironing board in front of door crossways. when we are in the room. they are so noisy when they are moved gives us notice to react
back in the 90s I was in a hotel in Memphis. I was there on business. it was Friday night when everybody's out on the town. except me. I stayed home/ room to read. and then I heard it there is four people outside my door trying to get in as a matter of fact they had a key! I was out of that bed and over at the door grab the key out of their hands and slam the door shut and locked it again. they said they were given the key downstairs apparently they gave him the wrong room number too. so use both locks all the time!
I always put a door stop on the inside.

Why is everyone so paranoid that their hotel room is going to get broken into? Seriously people how often does that happen and how many valuables do you take on your vacations? Leave them at home!
And put something like a chair or suitcase in front. Noise alerts you and disorients them.
I worked at a motel 6 they make a special tool that also does this anyone can buy it we had one in the office for cops or emt's to get in rooms

I’ve been in many hotel rooms and I know that that door does not open unless you have a room key. It doesn’t even open a little bit for that to happen. Just saying.
You just thought every criminal that didn’t know that trick how to break in. Sure, some people may wake up and break their hand or shoot them, which is what I would do, but others may not wake up soon enough to stop them. I would shoot because I would assume that they have a gun

This is sad. And scarry. Of course the lock will only be on if someone is in the room. So if im in the shower or I decide to go downstairs for a drink at the bar, have my teenager in the room with other kids. 😲🤔 Yeah this is alarming. 🙏🙏
I use every lock the door has and hang the do not disturb sign in the knob from the time we arrive until we leave.

There are several companies that make a tool, especially for unlocking hotel doors! The tool is much faster, though! You must be mindful of "bad actors" anytime you are in pay to stay venues!!! Be careful, people, and remain vigilant!

When I'm in a hotel room I lock the deadbolt when I flipp the other thingy.
THERE'S MANY SAFETY PRECAUTION SECURITY LOCKS ON THE MARKET THAT DO WORK, WHILE YOU'RE INSIDE OF THE ROOM. AMAZON SELLS MOST. I USE AN ALARM TYPE , IT WORKS FINE. ONCE AWAKEN, ILL TAKE IT FROM THERE. CITIZENS NEVER OPEN THE DOOR AFTER YOU HEAR TAMPERING OF DOOR, CALL THE HOTEL DESK. HAVE THEM COME AND CHECK OUTSIDE OF YOUR DOOR.

now they needs to put a slide in latch on all doors not just hotel, your rooms house/homes , my dad use to put two brackets on rack side of the door with a two by four across it when someone tries to kick it open they breaks theirs leg or foot ankle 👍👍 try it special on double door's

if you are asleep in the room does that count and if you are asleep then did they wake you up making enough noise? Point is how easy it is to bypass the security item and it can be useless basically. just take your screw gun and run a couple 4 inch screws through the door into the door frame??
