to get to watch a hunting/ pointer is a work of art.
the sweetest dogs. we got one didn't hunt. she wasn't shot she came to a rescue awe got her .calm loving easy to train needed lots of exercise perfectly for kids ..so even if that dog don't hunt. still a fabulous family doog
My dad had a German Shorthair and he would not leave the girls till he knew every pheasant had been flushed. He was good standing still tail shaking. My dad would say ok get him up and he’d spring at them and up they went and we ate pheasant for dinner
We had two English setters when I was a kid. Rip and Wendy. They put the pointers to shame. Grew up around southern Ft Worth. Some of the best quail hunting in the state. Interstate, Walmart and neighborhoods now. No lonesome Bobwhite whistles in decades.
