After 5 years you should expect to have all walls painted and all carpet replaced. It’s called wear and tear. Nothing was really that bad.

Is no one gonna mention that it’s five yrs later and he’s surprised? Like he never did a routine inspection? Or maybe he didn’t.

people have kids and kids tear shit up. get over it. so tell me.. what did all the rent over the past 5 years go to!? yeah my point exactly. paying rent for 1year covers all damage most damgez maybe not all but over the course of 5 years.. yeah.. unless she hardly paid. then that's when you take her to court for the damages but If she paid in full each month then leave that family be. you made a pretty penny off it. pay to have it fixed from the rent you made and move on

Mold in the ceiling, paint chipping of poorly painted railings, railing fell off the walls probably because you didn’t fasten them to studs, which looks like they fixed, poor painted molding, and walls. The walls in the room upstairs didn’t even look like the Sheetrock was finished…. This just looks like an apartment that’s owned by a slumlord.

if this is the first time in 5 years you've walked into the house that you own tells me that you are not the most reliable landlord you should have done inspections not just collect the check

This is one of the reasons why I wouldn't want to deal with Tennants I have seen worse places and what sucks is that some states like Illinois owners can't do contracts no more nor ask for security deposit, worked for a family that owed a few buildings in the city month after month we had to clean an fix up the apartments so yea this wasn't too bad

The fridge has a note saying "if you're here when I get back it'll be a bad day for your family" with an attitude like that no wonder they didn't respect the property - they didn't respect you - probably a slum lord - who threatens tenants - threatening someone's family no matter the situation is a no go zone -

I'm about to move out of my apartment after 6.5 years and there are no holes in the wall or missing doors. there is a broken light switch and heater in living room stopped working when it fell off the wall, but that lr damage was done before I moved in. the paint is all there and the front piece of wood below the sink fell off, but wasn't broken and isn't missing. this is rough wear and tear. and I've had a young child grow up in mine so they can't blame this just on kids, kids don't destroy that badly!!

I’ve seen and repaired worst. What’s amazing is that there was no service or repairs done in 5 years. There is no way this should have went unnoticed. I will typically get a call for the same properties at least a few times a year . Clogged toliet or sink , tripped breakers , faulty receptacles, etc . Unless these people was evicted and they did this damage on purpose.
