I went to a concert and venue was next to housing projects. Fenced in venue lot was full. Parked outside a project house and guy on steps offered to watch my car for $10 dollars. I gave him $20 when I got back. He laughed and said his car watching income got him his carry out food. We won and he won😊
I went to dinner one evening after work. The area known for crime. There was a gentleman sitting outside the restaurant asking for money. I did the same. I gave him money to keep an eye on my car and promised him more if he was still there and the car was safe when I came out. I’d like to think he felt better doing a service for his money than taking a handout.
I used to load in New Haven ct and come up on stop lite and homeless guy there , one day I noticed his tattoos, I started giving him what I had and we’d talk . A fellah come up behind me one day when I gave him a few bucks and the guy says why do you give that bum money ? I says look at his tattoos. Guy come up next day says holy shit !! The man was a friggin hero , you never know who your looking at
Years ago I used to go to a club in a not so safe part of town. Where I usually parked there was a guy who would watch my car for a small fee. My car was always there and untouched when I left. I would occasionally bring him a cold beer or even some snacks in addition to his small fee he required. He was happy.
My husband and I used to go down to Mexico for the day and took our truck and this guy offered to watch it every time we go down there to go shopping and stuff like that and my husband would give him $20 and usually he washed it and it was always perfect condition when we came back and kind of became his friend. we lived in New Mexico so it was like 20 miles down to the border so never had to worry about our truck
