Yes, if you are suspected of any type of crime at all, it is completely legal to ask for a form of identification. You have no idea what kind of background he may have and they may be looking for a person that is associated with the store . He has obviously been trained to address police asking for identification.

the guy who owns the party store is correct. it's private property and you do have to have a warrant. unless ice has a picture of him as well as a name and this is his business. but the owner of the store did follow the rules of the law and Ice cannot intervene and ask that store owner for ID. like someone said on here they wait till he leaves the store then they can do something that's probably what they did
