Where “Tenderism” Came From “Tenderism” started with a man named Walter “Unc / Mr. Tenderism” Johnson, who worked at a BBQ restaurant in California. In his videos he would show ribs or brisket that were so tender they fell off the bone, then dramatically react and say “That’s tenderism!”  These clips went viral on TikTok and Instagram because: •The meat literally falls apart when he lifts it. •His reactions are funny and over-the-top. •The catchphrase “tenderism” became a meme.  People started remixing the phrase into other types of memes and edits. The Gun Clip Version The video you saw is likely a meme edit, not the original trend. In many edits people: •Pull a magazine (often incorrectly called a “clip”) out of a gun •Show something dramatic or random •Then say “tenderism” as a punchline The joke is basically random absurd humor—taking a phrase about super-tender BBQ and using it in totally unrelated situations for comedic effect.
