Either you had the defrost on high for a second or it wasn’t cold enough to make the instant heat make it crack but keep testing th waters

the cracked windshield comes when you take an undrefrosted windshield and BOILING water, the "way to hot" and the "way to cold" mix up and pieces of the class expand while other parts contract and the glass breaks apart. the video on the other hand, showes a mostly defrosted windshield and slightly warm water, my mom used to put vinegar or rubbing alcohol in the water to keep it from boiling before doing this and it worked pretty well, ive never actually done any research into it but ive also never seen a windshield shatter from her doing it so id say its pretty safe
