game was over either way. at worst they had to run another play but yeah still a knucklehead play. if you're going to return punts it's your job to know every rule there is for every situation concerning punting the football and returning the punt. if you want to be the best at your position that's what you do anyway.

it's a forward pass, but the defense still has a chance to pick it up and score somehow. Since the penalty happened at 0 seconds on the clock, and the defense didn't pick it up.. it's over

I believe in equality and all. but at crucial crunch time moments. either sit the special player out for that play or put him somewhere he can't cost you the game. Bless his heart, man! 🙏🏾✌🏾

this would have been fine if his teammates didn't touch the ball, forward laterals are against the rules, since he threw it, it's considered a fumble, the fact that his team picked it up, it's considered a forward lateral, all he had to do was take a knee
