This is a "New Technology" for 2026. It is basically an App & this white alarm (I forget the real correct name for the white thing lol I'm sorry) But basically you put these "Alarms" next to sinks, tubs, toilets, water heaters, & any other where you get ur water from. Say ur pipes break or u forget to turn off ur tub, or Water heater bursts. Instead of coming home to a Major flood in ur house, as soon as a drip of water touches this alarm, You get notified IMMEDIATELY! Supposed to be a helpful way to save you Thousands of dollars in water damages. Hopefully I explained that somewhat understandable lol if not I'm sorry ๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ๐คฃ

so let's say you live in Texas, you're visiting Austria when you get an alarm that your pipes have burst. It takes you two days to make it back to Texas, did that alarm turn the water off or was it just running for two days. Not really seeing how this helps anything.

Many Homeowners policies will cover water damage that flows down (not up - that's separate flood insurance). But yeah, read your policy. Would be good to have if water leaking or flooding is a frequent problem.
It's a water detection sensor for those of you confused. He put it in water and his wife/gf got a notification that it detected water. I've had these in my home for 2 decades now.

manufacturers need to put these on the sides of their water heaters, washers,dryers etc. it would help sell their products and be a bonus for buying the item.
Alarm for broken water pipe, nice idea but if youโre not home shits getting deep before you get there. I guess itโs better than running for 8 hrs while at work and if home you could shut it off at the meter in a few minutes

All this is a battery and it has 2 metal things, sticking out of it that make it so that when it comes in contact with liquid like water, the electrical current is connected and it sets off a processor that sends a signal to your phone.
They sell these with your alarm system. Why are people so obtuse? I swear it's like people have phones but don't actually use them for anything other than making stupid comments online. Could've googled this.
