I worked in the mining industry on heavy equipment anytime there was lightning I wouldn’t work on the equipment they threatened me for refusing until safety stepped in after that everyone in the company was mandated not to work out in the lighting
I went dead in my right ear when I was sitting on my bed one day and lightning struck the chain link fence attached to the house right outside my bedroom window. ruined our washer and dryer and our furnace as well.
Back when my Daughter was 11 & my son was 7, we were in the backyard when a Monsoon was developing (we live in Arizona, so they come quick & hard) so we went inside. My kids were watching cartoons on TV while I was cleaning. All a Sudden, There was the LOUDEST THUNDER & LIGHTNING AT THE EXACT SAME TIME. All our lights & power went out. Our house was struck by Lightning. Our home alarm was the only thing working cause the back-up battery. I gave my cell phone to my daughter so I could check the breakers, she was scared that I might get hurt, but assured her lightning doesn't strike the same place twice. Every Breaker was tripped & I flipped them back on. After that, I started to realize everything that was destroyed. Our AIR CONDITIONER & SWAMP COOLER (we had both) TV, DVD, VCR, Powered Sub, Stereo, all 3 phones, garbage disposal, most outlets throughout the house, the sprinkler system, the outside lights. I always saved my Receipts & was reimbursed with only a $250 dollar deductible.

This is believe all are real. we had an Electrical storm say 15 Yeats back in NJ. The lightning and thunder lasted about 30 min. The lightning strikes lit the whole sky up and when it struck down some places you see the lightning then a bunch of smoke, others after lightning strle fire, you can hear trees falling around you. It was so quiet except for thunder and lightning I tried video taping but it looks really different . Like when you take pics of the moon from your cell phone it just looks like a light. Anyways lightning is very dangerous, thats Mother Nature pissed off. Watch out.

Lightning struck a transformer on a pole out by our house and the surge went through our line. It fried 3 tvs . The tvs were off but when it struck the tvs lit up ! It made a loud buzzing sound when it struck.
