When he counts the money, he puts it on the bottom and uses his left hand to fold it. He then holds on tightly to the money he's handling back; so he can palm the money, make the teller focus on getting the money back and then covers the money with the wallet.
you can see the money poking out the bottom of his left hand when he hands the money back then proceeds to cover it with his phone then straight into his jacket pocket.
I seen this a lot at a large grocery store I worked at, I told them, nope, I'll count it, then hand it to you.

If you can get a bank teller to just let you grab money from them then you don't need sleight of hand or tricks. Just take the money and leave.

the trick is to write your name on a large bill and give it to someone to get change it to but suffering cheap. you then go in with a small bill and buy something, get your change and walk outside. you will then immediately go back in and tell them that you have them a larger bill and that your change was incorrect. when they say you had a small bill you then tell them that you wrote your name on your bill and make them look. they will see that Bill and second guess themselves, giving you back the change. I don't advise this, this is broke ppl shit and I could never be that broke
