You never go to a pawn shop if your trying to sell something for the actual value of the item. Unless it's a dire emergency you're better off having an item appraised and either paying an auction house or just advertising the item and waiting on a buyer. And if you want the most for an item tell them you want to pawn it because they'll always let you pawn it for more than what they'll pay you to buy it. Use different pawn shops if your selling a lot of stuff over time because the pawn shops keep track of if you've pawned with them before and whether you picked up the item or not and if you've not picked up items they won't offer you as much to pawn.
