As a Christian we are called to bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse. The tithe is 10% and also to bring an offering. It’s brought to the storehouse which is the church. To support it and to help its ability to help others. The tithe is non negotiable. Neither is the offering. God has a purpose for everything He does. It’s about the giver being obedient to His commands. It also allows that believer to know God will recompense his obedience and bless him. Knowing I’ve been obedient to His word gives me such a sense of peace and watching the church be able to carry the Gospel to all the world which is what we were commanded to do fills my heart with hope. Unless you’re a believer it’s hard to understand the concept of why we do what we do. We do it because He first loved us. We do it because He commanded us to do so. We do it so the rest of the world has a chance to know the awesome God we serve. We do it in obedience. We do it because we love and worship Him.
Better than killing my brother who doesn’t want to be a christian anymore, or marrying a small girl, or even killing others with the hope of getting 72 virgins! Such foolishness!
As a Christian we are to follow practices in both the Old Testament New Testament. The sacrificial system is/was fulfilled with the coming of Jesus. Folks who judge others and their ideas of finances need to remember the final judge is Jesus not them.

Religion, faith, and seeking personal spiritual growth is good. But some people will go along only if you can impress them with all the magical things the people in their faith did that doesn't happen to normal people. That maybe it can happen to them. That's not seeking spiritual faith. That's wanting to be being dazzled. Believing that the magical side of their religion can occur. They are not listening to and studying the words. Don't lose faith and keep saying the word to strengthen you.
