Let me teach you a thing or two: 1st your screw is 3 times longer than it needs to be. 2nd a manual screwdriver rarely strips screws, 3rd if you'd wanted to drive that screw home, you could have inserted a rubber band in-between the driver & screw. But thank goodness for your grandpa's vast knowledge, I hope you never forget that nugget of wisdom...

if you noticed the tip wasn't skipping in the screw he just had the clutch turned down to where it would click to sound like it was not grabbing the screw because he doesn't show the number dial on the front of the drill

and to use the Chuck of the screw gun to take the screw out will really mess it up and when you really need the screw gun it won't work have a wonderful day and the right size bit Works always
