Water witching. A y shaped branch will twitch over a water source.

Dowsing Rods. Have no clue about you crazy people and your witching water and whatnot, it's just dowsing rods, nothing magical.

Studies show it's not more reliable than chance for locating water unlike scientific methods like ground penetrating radar

Water, especially moving water, creates a magnetic flux. Pick it up with the wicking, witch sticks.

I did this while working with fiber optics, to ensure I wouldn't break the line while drilling... we can even tell more less how deep it is... I can't but some can tell the flow direction... it's old knowledge... nothing is new under the sun. as the Bible says...

You don't have to see if it works, it's guaranteed to work every time. It does work a little better with a willow branch.

Hey, it works! I worked septic service for awhile and the bossman showed me how to do it, and it really does work. I know I thought he was nuts but after seeing him correctly find the lines time and time again I was convinced and had to try myself. It really does work!

It's called dowsing or water witching. It's an old-time method of finding water before digging an expensive well. It genuinely works. As a kid we had a Witcher come out to our farm and he found an underground stream flowing @ 65 feet. Good water, but high Sulphur content & water smelled like boiled eggs. 7mi. from nearest town..we didn't have city water.
