I can't recall the last time I opened my own door! Either my son or their dad opens it, even if I'm the one driving! I tell them both they are absolutely crazy and no one on this planet opens a door for a woman anymore except for my Dad and us kids when it comes to our Mama! They always tell me I'm Crazy and to just get in. They are even so sweet enough to turn on the seat warmer in the winter and the seat cooler in the summer! So I guess I am the crazy one 😆😆😆

I used to open the door for my wife all the time. Before my accident now I physically can't anymore, and it bugs me. She says she understands. I guess it's one of those things I need to come to terms with🙏
Since we started dating, and when my husband is with me, my husband has always opened any door we come to for me. And like this man, he gets really upset if I open it myself because he thinks I’m Dissing him if I do. He also escorts me to the restroom and waits to escort me back, if we go to an event or club. At a barbecue, he insists on getting my plate and bringing it to me. And I’m proud to say my grandsons are the same way. We’ve been together going on 46yrs. He’s such a good man. His parents raised him so well and I know how fortunate I am to have him. This lady is fortunate with her men too. There are good men out there. The feminists of today would disagree, they want to hate men and don’t think they need them, but I would say letting your man open doors, if he wants to, doesn’t diminish you or take away your power as a woman. It supports and enhances it. They are confusing respect for control. Chivalry isn’t dead for every man. I’m so grateful for mine. 😊🇺🇸

I hold open doors wherever I go. I just can’t let the door shut in someone’s face. Men or women or kids I do it for everyone. I know this is a car door but it’s just common courtesy.

It will be 20 years for me this year and we’re the same way. My wife and daughters will wait at a door if they get to it before me to wait for me to open it. It’s become just a normal part of life that they’ve told me they will stand by a door sometimes when I’m not with them waiting for me to open the door until they catch themselves. Lol. My 25 year old daughter married a man that opens her doors too.

I don’t know about “ get out the damn truck “ to my mom!!! But I understand the message my mom opens NO doors when I’m around. And I’m also almost 50yrs old and sometimes get yelled at for calling ALL females “Ma’am”, even little girls, but it’s just habit. Nothing wrong with being a gentleman, and chivalry is NOT dead!!! Just not a popular lesson in the home anymore, especially when there’s NO man in the house and the mom was never treated like this in her life to be able to pass it on to her son. It’s a sad world now but some of these little ones give me hope!!
THAT is my husband! 🤣 I get in "trouble" for trying to open my own door. On Texas heat days, I've at LEAST got him to not CLOSE the door until the furnace oven has blasted out some of the heat!

I taught my sons the importance of opening the doors for women and really anyone at a young age. As a single parent I felt it was my duty. The best compliment I received from other parents was when my son opened the car door for his prom date while their sons let their dates get their own doors. Proudest moment
