😆🤣🤣🤣 6 feet of snow has a depth of like 4-5 feet. I live in Lewis County where we get lake effect snow. The last time I seen snow like, I was 10 and it was the blizzard of 77.

Snow in large amounts is not fun for drivers or snow plow drivers.

“Lake Effect snow” can bring a lot in a short time. I live in Duluth, Mn. and we have had our snowfalls but nothing like this, save the Halloween Blizzard of 1991 when we received 3 feet of snow! Incidentally, that snow storm became part of the “Perfect Storm” of which the movie was made.

As a Deep South resident all my 71 years, I have rarely seen more than a few inches of snow. I think it was March of 92 we had the "Blizzard of the century" in GA and TN, not sure where else. The Atlanta area got 12 inches, our southeast TN relatives got 24. Then in maybe 2012 we had Snowpocalypse Atlanta where it snowed so much children were kept at school overnight, fed and slept on mats until parents could come get them. The intertwined I-75 and I-285 highways nicknamed "Spaghetti Junction", downtown Atlanta and more were shut down. When I heard it was coming I called a friend across town and asked if I could come over for the weekend. I didn't want to be stuck at home in suburban Atlanta with a restless husband and adult son being grouchy because they were stuck at home. It lasted longer than expected, several days.

My family moved to northern Maine in 1956, I was only 4 years old. This was a normal part of growing up for me. Yes the snowfall really was that deep at times. My dad & brothers would have to shovel us out themselves because the snow plows only hit the main roads. They would extend our antenna and tie a red flag at the top. We’d search for red flags as we approached each road. Us kids used to jump out of our 2nd story bedroom windows right into the snow. Now we know how foolish & deadly that could be. Thank God we never sank too deeply in the snow.

I can't remember the year exactly, but it was either 1971 or 1972, my in-laws lived in Schoharie County, Middleburg, NY (upstate). My husband and I took our 12-hour drive from Charleston, WV, up for Thanksgiving. We had to go up through near Cleveland across into Erie, PA, up to Buffalo and get on the NY Throughway, headed East, of course. We had a blizzard follow us (I mean, it was right on our tail and, thanks to my husband's great driving, we stayed JUST ahead of it--the snow was on our back bumper the whole way! The roads ahead of us were still clear). We arrived safely at their house and got up the next morning to 24" of snow!! It was just under the bottoms of the window sills in the living room.

I played in a peewee travel team hockey tournament in the 1975 in Oswego NY. The whole town was under 7+ feet of snow. We drove and walked through tunnels to get everywhere. They were dumping the snow out on Lake Ontario
