I had a stupid friend that wanted to fry bread just to see.... he forgot about it and it caught fire. this guy then grabs the pan and brings it to the sink... drops the pan in with obviously hot oil still full in it with the on fire toast.... then turns the water on full... flames shot 5 feet up the wall and it look like a nuclear bomb test blast as the flames slammed against the ceiling with no where else to go then started crawling across... if it's small just cover it with a towel if it's to large grab baking soda, even flour and pour it heavily over the source. the mess is a lot easier to deal with then melted blinds and a roasted wall
Buddy had the stove on the highest level. That grease way to hot 😆 I know that whole kitchen was fried

I learned this the hard way
I saved a chick at a little pick up joint.She dropped wet wings in the deep fryer and it started bubbling up and onto the floor.I said" lift it out of the oil" it stopped instantly.If oil is deep use basket or dont over crowd the oil.Gets crazy fast.

as a man who doesn't Exactly know what he's doing...first thing im moving the pot Off the burner. Why...because im thinking, if this get outta control cuz it's Too Hot, My ass will get Fried next . move the pot, use long tongs, bbq fork, Test a piece til it fry like you want, Then put it back on the burner and Slowly add other pieces. drop the heat a little. Trick...cover with a lid but cover at an angle. One side acts as a vent and Controls grease splatter.....
been there. did not do that though. use less oil. too much will make it boil over. and that, can be scary! God Bless
