It’s now $9B+ in fraud to investigate in MN. After accusing media of bias, Waltz now says he may support an investigation. But which fraud? The $1.7B in tax refund fraud? PPP? Minnesota told individuals to delay getting REAL IDs due to the backlog. How can a state have a backlog in 2025, on a requirement passed in 2005 with a deadline for implementation of 2014 to require REAL IDs? There allegedly are billions in SNAP fraud caused by a less than minimally adequate common sense state government operations. Minnesota is projected to have a $6 billion deficit in the 2028-29 biennium. The deficits are caused by Minnesota’s decisions to expand welfare, originally funded by increased federal COVID subsidies, but Biden announced an end to Covid in 2023 and those federal subsidies are finally ending. Spending in Minnesota is continuing to increase faster than tax receipts. Lax controls over verification of eligibility for tax returns, SNAP, PPP, and other spending is enabling fraud.
