When I read all these racist comments, I realize how Trump was elected.

The sign was in English. Goes to show how dangerous these illegals with CDL LICENSE are, in the 18 wheeler and can't read English ๐Ÿ˜ฒ.!!!.

The hazard of giving people a CDL who can't read and/or understand ENGLISH!

I drove semi long haul for 30 years solo . I had 14 foot trailers and I would stop before I got to an overpass โ€ฆ but 10 10 I would never be on that highway! Either an idiot driver or an illegal!

Happens often on the Hutchinson River Parkway s/b in New Rochelle, NY. They usually tear off the tops of the trailers. Been happening for decades because the trucks are prohibited from driving on parkways, and drivers ignore the signs and pavement markings. NO COMMERCIAL VEHICLES!

We have a truck eating bridge in my town. I've seen the aftermath from seversl of the trucks that have had their roofs peelef off like a sardine can and their loads all over the pavement

I've seen the end result with a roll off truck that forgot to put the rack down & hit an overpass...it propelled the driver upward inside his cab and killed him instantly...the biggest problem is that the driver probably turned off the annoying light and sensor buzzer that would have alerted him to put down his rack! Was a sad day!

10'10" is unusual. That bridge should be painted yellow over the road. However, that's a dumb driver missing the lighted signs.

that idiot slowed down and ran the truck into the bridge to see if he was to high rather than get out and check

It took me three times to be able to read the sign. The sign said that the overpass is 10'10". A semi-truck is 13'6" high. And if there happens to be snow and ice, the truck and trailer are even higher.

I know itโ€™s a lonely trip on the roads for truckers and sometimes they get really tired. You need to stop and rest screw their company. Their health is more important than money. I knew a traveler one he was on the road seven days a week. I told him he was crazy and I took him home to my house, kissed him and hugged him made him some breakfast put him to bed and in the morning he was refreshed so he was on his way and no, I didnโ€™t go to bed with him. I just put him in a nice warm bed. Thank you to me.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

drive real slow and deflate the truck and trailer air bags and ease under the center of the bridge and maybe you'll get lucky but you should known that there was a 10/10 you should have done your job

One time my brother was driving a very large part for an earth mover! He came across a low lying electric wire. But didnโ€™t see it ,but the huge load caught it, and pulled the plug on the towns electric! He also took out a large tree branch with it. So he kept driving trying figure out what the tug was but still didnโ€™t see anything but a few sparks. So he pulled over to the side of the road and saw the tree and electrical wire attached to the part he was hauling! Then he got back in to the cab, his wife was sleeping but had woke up when he jumped back in the cab. Then he saw blinking red and blue lights approaching fast, so he thought they were going to stop and check him out! But they didnโ€™t! So he and his wife discussed it and she told him just to keep on truckin. So he did with the tree branch and electric wire flapping in the wind! They drove to their home and parked his 18 wheeler. Never heard a word about it ever again! But he had a story to tell!

I've been driving trucks since I've been 20 years old before they changed the law that you have to be 21 years of age. back then, we didn't have to go to truck driving school. we took the test at motor vehicles for the permit. Then we set up a road test. Back then, we could use a friend's truck to borrow to take the test. The owner and you would drive his truck to rhe road test site. He would get out so the person giving you the road test could get in the vehicle and you would be tested. I've never used a truck GPS to drive a truck my whole career. its been 35 years now. I'm 57. If you can't read a road sign about bridge heights and can't doing basic common sense driving a big rig. You shouldn't be on the road. In today's trucking they make Truck GPS technology so Truckers don't hit low bridges. Im glad I learned the old school way without a truck GPS. You won't see me relying in a truck GPS to drive because I can read road signs.
