I'm sitting here damn near hyperventilating... but a good skill to know
So if you are ever in a kayak and it flips over, the first thing to do.. For safety and stuff, is to remove your helmet and do a trick with it, and then right yourself? This seems like a great skill that will come in handy for white water rapids.

BUTβ¦does he know the biological difference between a man π¨ and a woman π©πΌ
π
The big difference, this is a CONTROLLED environment. The real test is to do a rollover in a raging rapid.
In real rapids, my little cousin was in a canoe or something with others, when they flipped, they couldn't find him, but finally did. He was breathing the air in the upside down ice chest, so he couldn't be seen, but was also holding on to it, because it floated. o would guess it might male a good helmet, too.
traps air in the helmet and helps with rolling back over?
Why do I hate that
Why??? I mean is he going rapids now!!?!?! Is he going to a deep lake now??? He would be scared shitless if it was dark waters and why take off the helmet. If it truly fell off it would not be right by himβ¦β¦β¦ Hood job kid. Sorry you canβt play normal in a pool.
Thatβs a long time for that kid to hold his breath
ok...π€ not sure why he would need to learn take helmet off but ok
underwater way too long for me!
Man I wouldβve jumped in that bihh! He skared tf out of me
Iβm not sure, but his arms look like theyβre not in the right position when he put the hat on the boat
good job, π
Looked so calm and proud of herself that she got right side up
That was so stupid π
A professional instructor DROWNED IN PHILADELPHIA, PA by accident doing that maneuver.
Young ones like this have surfed most of their young lives here in the islands. They develop very healthy, efficient lung power. Long paddle outs to catch waves, falling off and having to stay under to avoid incoming crushing waves until resurfacing. Not for the faint of heart spectating, plus it's the only sport that involves possibly being ingested by sharks .π
Took too long for me!!π²
What ππ
brilliant
Whatβs he doing with the helmet?
Oh, he did roll around and resurface! Whew! I didn't wait for the clip to finish.
Awesome!!!!
When I started kayaking in 1975, I was in second grade. This maneuver was the first thing I was taught. My Dad was very serious about handling emergencies and recovering from unusual body attitudes that we can end up in. Learning the kayak roll aka Eskimo roll and staying efficient will save your life!!!
Thatβs the dumbest damn thing Iβve ever seen! And if he doesnβt make it? β¦ Stipid parents.
hard to watch that ! great to learn but as a parent, scary to watch !
Isn't he supposed to roll around to upright again?
I can't watch that
What was the point in taking the hat or the helmet off and then putting it back onπ€π
Oh hell no.
You have to roll it completely over & come upright to pass
Thatβs cool!
Wow π€© how did he hold his breath for that long π€ great job π
Geeze it took him a little longer to flip it back overβ¦I thought he was drowning
Badddddd Dude π π!
Kayakers need to know but very scary watching a little kid do it.π
wow I don't even think I could of pulled that one off!!!π
damn I'm impressed, what was with the hat thing for to get some extra air for some buoyancy?
thats not a cool skill, Would prob help him next time, looked like a struggle to me
Itβs not expected to be so great when the River current pushes his head on and off the rocks. If he flips, it most likely wonβt offer him the chance to use his skill. ππΌ
Nice
It was less than 20 seconds.
Awesome ππΌππΌππΌ
WπW, years ago I worked on a drilling rig in the Gulf of Mexico, had to go through 2 weeks training. water survival took 1 week, and had to do this in a helicopter simulator. I must say it was pretty scary ! had to unbuckle seat belt etc to get out. what an experience it was . among other things, we had the best pro instructor right there with us every second!! I would love to share the entire experience but its alot. Great job young man β£οΈπ€ππ±π·
great work!!ππππ₯°π₯°π₯°
Goes over, takes off helmet, flip back wearing helmet????
I don't see the reason for him to take the helmut off and then put it on top and then have to grab it again and put it back on.That's a good way to drowned
