To the dude in the cell there, if she admits what the contents are then that's just as good as saying that is hers.
He can still charge her. Her confession is not useable in court, but if he reads there rights and then tell why she is being arrested and she would get a chance rather to confess again or stay silent. Think about it, when you get pulled over and the cop ask is there weapons in the car? Or have you been drinking? Both questions no Miranda and you still can be arrested. He just can’t use that confession. Her talking and admitting it gave him probable cause

The jails I’ve been to have an “amnesty box” for drugs located in the sally port before you enter booking. The police/sheriff always ask if you have anything else on you and that if you don’t give them to put in amnesty box before you enter booking and it’s found later you will be charged with an in-house drug charge (felony). The officers dropping you off and the sheriff deputy checking you into booking would also get in trouble for missing it. I’ve never tested out the amnesty box so I don’t know if you’d actually catch a new charge or not.
