I have a friend who owns a bar. She's had numerous Gen Z actually try this & then get upset when they were told it wasn't acceptable. "Here, I'll zoom in! You can see it's me & the dates are valid!" No. No it is not an acceptable form of ID.
Why is this not accepted by the waitress? There is a picture, ID #, dob, address, exp.date, etc. I believe it should be okay from where I see it.
Depends on whether the state allows the individual to use a picture of the license as proof..

What you give is what you get!🤷🏻♂️ I’m 70 years old and waiters waitress’s bartenders still ask for my ID at times! I just smile and say sure thank you! What’s the big deal about taking out a physical ID and showing it to them! And besides, once they see my ID I get senior discounts on entire foods bill so it’s actually a plus to just Abide by their requests!🤷🏻♂️
