Back in 1980 in the mtns of Colorado on a two lane highway, we were stopped by a scene just like this only very dangerous. Very steep mtn and the mule deer were running down the slope trying to get to the bottom before a major snow storm hit.. They are an unstoppable force in numbers like that and my heart went out to them because one slip would have meant death for many. We had to sit for 45 minutes before there was a break in the flow. It was one of the most awesome, thrilling and worrying (for the deers' safety) experiences of my life.
Just think during the eighteen hundred there was roughly One million buffaloes roaming parts of Kansas Colorado, including Montana's range. I wish it was like that today

This is a large herd of Reindeer. Probably in Alaska or Finnland. They live in large herds like this. 🤔

We have used our natural resources without integrity. Now hundreds of yrs later we have the results to deal with. If this is a crossing way of these animals annually. Maybe a fix would be a wide bridge so they can pass unmolested. Have seen that in Cali.

I would say caribou or reindeer. I used a magnifier and saw dark heads and a light colored body. That is amazing to see that.
