The Police Escort: Because the monks walk single-file along busy highways and country roads, local police departments (such as those in Demopolis, AL and Pearland, TX) have been providing official escorts to ensure their safety. Police Honors: In a rare gesture of respect, many officers have been presenting the monks with official police pins and badges as they pass through different jurisdiction.
